Super. Admit it, it is one of the best mods for Lancer.

I just order the Perches, Sway bar and Tie bar from RRM for my Sportback.
I will go to a driving school in 2 weeks to test them. My best time in that Kart/AutoX (Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico) track course was 1.08.98 before the mods (the best course time I have seen there is from a moded CRX: 55:58) here is the vid of the the CRX:

I will try to get a vid of the Sportback doing its stuff when I go there in 2 weeks.

Thanks for the write up.

I got the sway bar and tie bar yesterday when I went up to RRM to show them my apparent "unique" stock exhaust system and look forward to installing it. Seems like everyone is pretty happy with it so I should be pleased.

Questions, I know that the stock perches are the weakest link and tend to snap during AutoX - if we just want a big handling difference for spirited daily driving, would just the sway bar be good enough on the stock perches or is it just an overall better idea to get the stronger perches? Thanks and great write-up - I'll definately be using it when I get the sway bar

OVer time stock perches may die. We have seen this mostly in cars that live in bad weather areas with roadsalt.

It sure is. It's something you can notice right away. I would get the perches. The paint on my stock ones was half gone and had rust starting.

I just got the Sway/Perches and Tie Bar installed by my dealer to factory torque specs...only $30 for the job. (I work from tuesday to saturday...I could have installed them myself...but it have been raining all week down here...lazy me....)

I couldn't fully test the Sportback because the roads are all wet but the Wagon rear feels more solid now...I LIKE IT A LOT!!! I will go to an AutoX next sunday (my best time is 1.08.98 at that track)...I will try to get some videos of the wagon at the track and take some time off of that personal time.

Rob...the wagon is really dirty now because of the rain ...so as soon as I wash & wax it I will post some pics.

Cool

Got some pics of the Sway/Perches/Tie bar....the car was a little dirty....sorry for that guys! I just got back from the AutoX...this stuff really works!!! I got 3 seconds off of my previous track time. It could have been better but the Auto tranny is not good for this type of events, but anyway I got a lot of fun doing this!!!

Now I have to work with my driving skills (going to a driving school next month) and get some better tires (still have the Potenzas) to improve my track times. I will post some photos of the AutoX at the Ralliart general forum...

Stock; 13mm
RRM/Progress; 19mm
BTW, 5mm is a huge difference. 19mm is something like 250% stiffer than 13mm.
