yeah, it squats instead of jumps. that was my favorite part (right behind no more missing quick shifts in the corners, less wheel hop, and better communication)

Puttin the mounts in tomorrow along with the clutch lines from rrm and work. I am glad my mechanic is doing it after reading these posts. I just want that jerky first to second engagment gone and the crap clutch to feel better This car seems to get better and better when the weak factory parts are swapped for higher quality ones (mostly from RRM Thanks guys!)

Well the install went well and so far I am happy with the mounts. The vibration is not too bad at all. I have had a few friends ride in the car and they do not notice it and the GF doesnt seem to mind. I feel instant repsonse when changing gears and down shifts fell much nicer. There is no more jerk when rev matching. I also used to chirp second really hard and it does not chirp anymore....it just gripped It was weird. The only problem that I have is when on the throttle lightly at 3500-4000RPM there is a weird noise like a ticking? I do not know if it is just the extra vibration causing dash noise or what? Any ideas. BTW the clutch helped alot as well and these two mods combined will help you learn to drive properly or you will feel it

So I guess that answers my question about the ticking. It seems to have gotten a little better after a few days of driving. I think the benefits of having the mounts out weigh the weird noises. I have not done my valve adjustment yet also and I have about 40k miles.

Ticking is not from the mounts unless the bolts are somehow loose.

Hey ROCK thanks for the reply. I honestly do not think that it is the mounts that are causing the problem but just the high tech plastic dash I noticed that the noises have subsided as I continue to drive the car. I think that the vibration is nice because it gives me more feed back from the engine. I went for a little spirited driving tonight and first and second gear throw me back. I think this RA is faster than my mirage was with the turbo. Good times. I also want people who are considering RRM mounts to know that the vibrations are way tolerable and really only noticeable when sitting at lights and in the morning at start up. Dangerous Dan's write up is right on. The car just hooks up and goes with no jerkiness or hesitation. I can downshift so smoothly and when I let off the throttle at higher rpms it just hums and does not move like before. This is what I believe a necessary mod and so are the clutchlines.

I'm in need of new motor mounts myself here. My engine had to be overhauled and the hold setup was modded. Thanks for all the info here, guys. I'll be installing new mounts as soon as they get ordered and they arrive. lol
