My car just got viewed by the insurance company. Over $25,000 CAD in damage! They said they will give me $20,000 for my car. I told them that was enough money and it is worth more than that. They decide to get a private company to appraise my car

Guessing nothing physical damage to yourself then, but have you been checked out and cleared by a doc? You do have a statute of limitations on that btw.
You can get your insurance company to cover "certain" mods. Like ones "permanently" affixed to the car. At least that's what Nationwide told me. It would include RIMS!, aftermarket body kits, spoilers, hoods, motors, seats, etc etc.
