So I got to working on the RA some more this weekend. Went ahead and installed the Crank Scrapers. Turned out really well. Nekkidlad came over Saturday and helped me pull the timing stuff and remove rotate and reinstall the bearings for the balance shaft delete. I only bothered taking one picture during all of this. Because we found my timing belt that pulled a disappearing act on me when this car broke. Check it out.

I'll let you all dissect that for a minute. Lemme know if anything looks out of place... LMAO

When I test fitted my evo 8 rims they kinda poked out about a 1/4 inch. I wanted to run them I gotta try put on the ground to see how well it fits

LOL yep. Exactly. That bolt somehow came loose from the crank position sensor and made its way up there to get wedged, break the tiny belt, then cause the big one to shred and make a nest around the crank.

Nekkidlad helped me knock out the bearings and rotate them. Balance shafts are being deleted. Wont have to worry about that tiny belt anymore lol

Put the new water pump in last night. Going to clean up my oil pan and put the front case with the deleted shafts on tonight. Trying to just do a little every night until its running again. I dont want to rush and screw something up.

Well I guess I could give a bit of an update on where the car is at this point. So lets rewind a few days.

I tapped the valve cover to delete the PCV valve in favor of a catch can.

Gave the same treatment to the block. There use to be a hole here so that you could insert a screwdriver and keep the balance shaft from rotating as you tried to remove its sprocket. I removed the bolt and put in a hose barb for my catch can oil return.

Got the front case put back on minus balance shafts and associated pulleys. On the stack on cranshaft sprockets there is one large one in the back that was used for the rear balance shaft. I had bought a replacement piece that came off of a 1.8l mirage which doesnt have balance shafts. However it was a fraction too thin so I ended up putting the stock sprocket back on. You can also see the oil sandwich plate that will house my oil temp and pressure sensors.

Cleaned off the block surface. Got it nice and smooth.

Nekkidlad came to the rescue once again and help me push things along. He's a champ. I owe him big time for all the work he's put in. Installed ARP head studs to support the boost it will some day receive...

Assembled the head with thermal spacers on the polished intake manifold and throttle body. Looped coolant lines that use to pass thru the throttle body to keep hot water from warming it up. And plugged off all the vacuum lines no longer in use. Put the block off plate over the EGR's old location. All the sensors reinstalled, and new oil seals. Dropped the head onto the block and put the timing belt on. Ran it thru a few times to make sure nothing was binding up. All seemed well.

And that is where it sits now. Im going to the Dominican Republic next week so I am hoping to hear it run once before we leave Saturday.

Guess who's back. Back again! LOL

I present to you Version 3.0 of my Ralliart. Back from the dead once again!

Fresh out of the garage. Hasnt moved under its own power in 6 months, and hasnt seen the light of day in almost that long.

Drove her to work, and on my lunch break treated her to a car wash.

Business end. I noticed the angle looked right between the SRI and the stock snorkel, so i thought i'd put it to work. prolly doesnt do much. lol Mounted my catch can on the driver side shock tower. Shes full of break in oil for now, and I also have a royal purple coolant flush running thru the cooling system. Going to flush all the fluids after the break in period.

Mods added while she was down:

- SRI (w/ ghetto snorkel)
- Throttle Body Coolant bypass
- Throttle Body thermal spacer
- EGR Delete
- Evap Emissions Delete
- Ported and Polished Intake Manifold
- Intake Manifold thermal spacer
- Ported Cylinder Head
- ARP Head Studs
- PCV Delete
- RRE Catch Can w/ crank case drain back
- Titanium Header Wrap down to the flex pipe
- Oil Filter Sandwich plate w/ Oil Temp and Pressure Sensors
- Water Temp Hose Adapter w/ Sensor
- IJ Crank Scrapers
- Deleted Balance Shafts
- Gates Water Pump and Timing Pulleys
- Zeitronix Wideband Sensor w/ AFR Gauge
- Prosport Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, and Boost (not hooked up) Gauges
- Radio Relocation (to where the cubby was)
- Gauge Clusters (where radio was, and on steering column
- Megan Racing Coilovers
- Aluminum "LANCER" Door Runners
- Swapped painted dash vents with black ones
- Swapped painted rear ashtray with black one
- Rubber "LANCER" Floor Mats
- Relocated horns

Its so good to be back in this car! Ive had a smile on my face ever since I started it up.

Amazing job man! Glad to hear that she's back in business! I've been working on mine as well but it's crawling as I'm still waiting for parts. Will be posting up a lot of stories (w/ photos of course) when I get the time. Take care and enjoy your new and improved Ralliart!!! #RalliartLife
