bakuro - the head unit is an Alpine CDA-9887. I use it because most new head units suck and are all about adding features that I don't care about. It doesn't look real out of place in the car, it has high quality DACs, 4 volt outputs that don't clip, good iPod control, and for when I was running a simpler system, it has fully adjustable active crossovers, time alignment, and some basic EQ. I'd like to get a new one that can output digital, but they just don't make any. Head unit tech really hasn't improved for more than a decade, and in many respects has taken steps backward. I mean for crying out loud it's 2016 and we're still using low voltage RCA cables and more than half the units you can buy use freaking segmented displays from the 80's.
Anyway, I added the controller for the Helix DSP Pro. It fits perfect in the storage hole:
Gives me a bunch more presets and an easy way to switch them, as well as some other basic controls.
