New Tires & Back to Stock rims

So I figured I would post up some pictures. Finally got my new S-Drives mounted and the OEM rims painted. Feels good to get rid of the 18 inch Falkens that were prone to side wall blow outs and rode / gripped like garbage. Its amazing how a summer tire rides and handles so amazing!

I for one will never buy Falken tires again. I got my first set of Bridgestone Potenza tires ever in 2011 and the tread still looks like they are brand new today. Went and got my tires rotated a couple of weeks ago and the guy was like do you even drive this car. After 3 years on the Falken ziex they were worn out completely. Looks good man!

high performance tires wear faster...it's doesn't mean they're crap, it means they're better...you sacrifice longetivity for performance, there's no compromise...you can't have soft compounds last forever, the tire company that figures how to do it likely wouldn't market it either, they make money by tires wearing out, and if the customer wants or needs traction, they will buy again and again.

I agree Crans, but the Falken tires I had where all season and sucked all around. Tearable in the snow and had no wet grip. I would never buy those Falken tires again. But yes you sacrifice grip for wear time.

you bought all-seasons, that was your first mistake

nah, just playing, but seriously, anything over 200whp you need lower than 300 UTQG treadwear rating if you ever want the pedal to touch the floor. even at the 300 mark, high speed cornering is not recommended.

I never said Falkens were crap, just that I won't buy them again. I just basically go to work and home and the Falken's looked as if I was auto crossing on the weekends lol. I was just stating that after 3 years the tread on the bridgestones still looks like it did the day i got them. Down here in the South their is no need for summer/winter tires either.

I've never had Falkens, but it really depends on the treadwear rating, not really the brand...I was not happy with the kumho tires I had, but I would buy them again is a variety that was more suitable to my driving conditions. If all you do is drive to and from work, you could save a lot of money buying tires that do just that. it doesn't matter the brand.
