2004 Lancer Sportback Ralliart AT Build

Turbo Tom inadvertently took my parking space at the track and had to wait about an hour for him to return and move his car. He was apologetic and really nice about the mistake when he came back.
Hey, will 8 inch wheels fit on our car?
Edit: I just went out to the car and it looks like the front will take 8's but the rear will not without spacers?

they will probably need spacers...I think you would need far less offset than that...like half...

When at the Shootout, I met with another AT enthusiast who owned an Eagle Summit Wagon, (aka: Mitsubishi Space Runner, Mitsubishi Expo LRV, Dodge Colt Wagon, Eagle Summit Wagon, Plymouth Colt Vista Wagon) that had a list of mods. Of particular interest was the transmission which was modified to incorporate the DSM Sportronic shifter, and the Forced Four Electronics, "The Shift Box" (http://forcedfour.com/shiftboxmitsuplus.htm). When I asked him about this shift box, he took me over to Forced Four's booth and I met with Shawn Newswanger (sales@forcedfour.com). I told Shawn about my car and the F4A42 transmission it utilizes and he informed me that they did not have a unit compatible with my tranny at the moment, BUT, Dave Buschur was currently testing out a unit for my model in his AT Evo at the track, and when/if everything tested out well, it would be available to the public. I have kept in touch with Shawn since then and a couple of days ago I received an email to that effect.
Here are some of "The Shift Box MITSU-PLUS" features:
•Programmable up-shifts independent for each gear change
1-2 up-shift is user adjustable in 100RPM increments from 5000RPM to 12,000RPM
2-3 up-shift is user adjustable in 100RPM increments from 5000RPM to 12,000RPM
3-4 up-shift is user adjustable in 100RPM increments from 5000RPM to 12,000RPM
•User adjustable down-shift protection
User adjustable on the fly in 500RPM increments from OFF, and 3500RPM to 7000RPM
•Overdrive off feature with indicator to prevent up-shifts to 4th gear
•Full line pressure shifts
•Red LED dot matrix display
•Powered by a powerful high quality PIC® Microcontroller
•High quality shift buttons
•Audio alerts when down-shifts are blocked
User configurable
•External shift inputs
•Can be used on it's own as a standalone transmission controller
•Wiring harness with plug in connection
•Limited 1 year warranty
I've been trying to contact "hackish" and ask if his new software was able to duplicate any of what this shiftbox is able to do. Unfortunately, Michael seems to have dropped off the planet. Has anyone else heard from him?
The guy with the Eagle Summit Wagon gave me a pretty thorough walk-through of his system and I was impressed to say the least! He also had switches wired inside the cockpit to by-pass certain features for on the track, and off the track use with the family, not to mention that he was running mid to high 13's in the quarter mile.

As a cosmetic solution, I was encouraged by Checkers Custom Cars in town (http://checkerscustomcars.com/HTML/) to fab this "heat shield" to cover the excessive welds on the UICP as opposed to grinding them down and compromising the integrity of the welds, etc. Came out pretty nice and got it done just in time for MOD 2014 - East Coast:

FYI: A Galant (not sure what year) power steering reservoir cap is compatible with my reservoir.
One of the tabs busted off mine so I went to a junkyard and bought one for $2.14. Mitsubishi dealer wanted $14.00.
