New to the RA
Hi guys. So I'm not new to the forum but I am new to this SOHC 04 RA. I just bought this to commute with and have had a 92 Eclipse GSX and a 96 GSX and two Galant Vr4's. The 4G63 motor isn't new to me but the G69 is. I've also had both a 00 mirage sedan that I wanted to do a Evo 5 on and a 03 Outlander that I wanted to do a EvoLander on. I know what it takes to do the Evo head swap in a G64 motor but not enough info for the G69. I've read that this motor can use the G63 stock Evo rods and Evo pistons that are 87mm right? Anyone here already done this? I'm on club3g and club 4g looking for answers as well. Do we also have any tuning options ? Thanks for the help.

Check out Mitsuorder's 4G69 Experiment. He swapped an Evo 9 4g63 Mivec DOHC onto the 4G69 block.
As for the rods and pistons. I have heard people mention using the oversized Evo pistons. 4G63 has 85mm bore. 4G69 has 87mm bore. As for the rods I am not so sure, maybe someone will chime in and let us know shortly this section gets pretty slow around the weekends and holidays it seems like lol.
As for tuning the only option we have is via a user named Hackish. He sells a reflash and tuning software. To date this is the only way we can have full control over the Ralliart's ECU. Pick up a Tactrix 2.0 cable, grab your laptop, and email hackish. There is quite a bit of info on him and his reflash in our section of the boards if you search.
In the mean time make a thread in the show n shine section and show us your car!

Thanks for the advice and link! Happy New Years btw. So hackish does reflashes? I'm really interested in the EvoHead swap. I'd probably rather do that than turbo the stock G69. Is Hackish the only one that can reflash my 04 RA? Or can I buy a tactrix and download a Tuning Software so I can do it myself? I'll make a show and shine soon as well!

You'll have to have/borrow/steal a Tactrix cable. Then Hackish will crack the ECU, and give you a basic tune for your car. Then you get a program and license for his software called UVtune. From then you can tune to your hearts content.
Im not sure how having DOHC with the hackish reflash would work. But if its anything like swapping the Evo8 head onto the 3g Eclipse 2.4l you might not have any issues. However I wouldnt swap on an Evo8 head to the 4g69 you'll lose Mivec without running some extra lines I believe. Evo9 head will retain Mivec as it is.
