It does look like it will fit. But you'd have to change out the axles and crap wouldn't you?? I would love to do that though.
I'd think it would get costly for install though.
Our RA's would HAUL if we had that motor.

Yea if we had that motor + our overall weight. Without a doubt we would run i'd say around 14's. Though yea you have to change the tyranny and etc. But this seems to be an interesting project.

it would be cheaper and easier to install a turbo kit and you would make the same hp or close to it .you must also be rich to throw away a brand new motor if you have that much money you should have bought a evo

But she suggested taking that v6 and then turbo it. You wouldn't have more fun than having a turbo on the v6. It would be kick-***.
But i do agree on the turbo isntead of just an engine swap for the money. You can build up the bottom end, turbo at like 11-13 psi safely and have nearly 300 horse. Far cheaper, still lots of fun.

Props for coming up with the idea. Maybe someone will do it. I own an 06 eclipse and even though I have the 4 cylander engine, the thing is really heavy. Its even more heavy with the V6 in it. Also, at least with the old gen eclipse, there really wasn't room for a turbocharger in the V6 engine bay so it might not be a possibility. I'm thinking we'd have even less room in our cars because the lancer chassis is smaller than the Galant chassis in the Eclipse. The beauty of our cars is that is that they're much lighter than the eclipses, like 500 + pounds lighter. That gives us a huge power to weight advantage. The nice thing about adding a turbo is that it only adds a few pounds to our engine rather than hundeds of pounds for a bigger block. If you're drag racing, its a cool idea, but if you want to keep your cornering performance, Its a bad Idea as it will make your car front heavy.

If no one does it we will never know how it would turn out... does anyone know the weights of the engines?... I guess you could compare the difference between the base and gt eclipses...
