high compression build

Hey guys i know there are a couple of you on here that have done a high compression 4g69. I am also looking to do this. I am thinking of doing a 11:0 ratio with the rpw hks 272/300 cam ported and polished intake and head. And a tune of course. My goal is 300whp N/A i know thats going to be hard but thats my goal i know ssp make i think 350 but was also running a 14:1 ratio which is high as hell lol. I guess i just want some advice from the guys who have done a high compression build and just to set me on the right path. Would be much appreciated. I dont want to turbo my RA ill buy me a evo8 soon and that will be my boosted car. I want my ra to be a na monster and ill be taking it out to autocross and road courses. Thanks guys.

I don't think anyone in the community did a high compression build on a 4g69 would be a very interesting project. Tuning thats easy I can help you there if you have a local tuner I can supply/rent you the tools needed or just tune the car.

I don't think anyone aside from SSP ever did a high compression build.

Yea turbo is that way to go for power. But everyone does that so i wanna do something different and i cant imagine what a high compression 4g69 would be like. Just looking on cam and piston help ive got machine shops and the knowledge to build it myself. Just always good to have second opinion and a little help.

I've been doing some research on this myself. Heard about the Honda K series guys mixing and matching blocks and heads and getting a 300+ hp NA engine! I started looking at all the specs and it would be VERY similar to a 4g69 with Evo9 DOHC head. buggest difference was the higher stock compression.

So if you switched to DOHC you should have more options on cams and more control of the timing. Higher compression pistons, and you'd have a very similar setup. If I was going to do that though I would probably look into light weight rotating parts, pulleys, flywheel, and maybe a knife edged crankshaft. That and a valvetrain built to support it and you would be able to raise the redline a bit and reach the power up on that end.

I've been itching to try it on one of my spare engines. If you get to it first Ill be excited to see the results!

300whp is a pretty tall order...I don't think you'll get there with 11:1, but you could break 200whp easily...

you would likely want to go with a 4G63 crankshaft, as the shorter stroke would allow you to rev higher, and the higher you rev the more HP you can make...of course you sacrifice some torque.
