I used an inscents stick to check for any air draws on the whole intake system, and couldn't find anything. So i took out the mass airflow sensor, it was a little grimey so i sprayed it down with brake cleaner. The o-ring on the sensor was a little stretched out, and i happened to have one the right size in my garage. I replaced that and lightly lubed it with a light weight gun oil. It seemed to fit in better, and sealed right down.
Then I disconnected the cold air intake from the rubber flex pipe by the intake manifold, cleaned the surface areas, used a little more gun oil and put it back on. The rubber flex pipe definately slid on to the CAI further, and had more of a solid seal.
After about 40 minutes of driving i noticed a smoother idle and rev. So far, no code. I'll be going for a longer drive this evening, so we'll see what happens. I have a feeling that it was just a combination of poor seals and a dirty sensor. Time will tell.

I used Vasoline to get the filter onto the CAI and the CAI onto the intake rubber flex pipe, so my seals should be good.

My car threw a CEL the other day, but I didn't bother getting the code pulled. I didn't notice any difference in driveability, so I drove it the rest of the way home, and reset the ECU. Hasn't come back since.

I believe this is true, here is why. I had replace my horrible looking HKS filter with a K&N filter, I had follow the instructions on how to clean/oil it etc, but I didn't over oil it, I actually under-oil it. After a few hours of driving around the CEL came on. So I took the car to autozone and ran the code and the same code pop up. Nobody at autozone knew exactly what it was, but said it could possibly be due to the intake, my guess was the new filter I just put on. I left the filter on for about 2week and kept re-setting my ECU when ever the CEL came on. One day I got sick and tried of doing it, almost like 20-24x a week and I just man up and bought another HKS filter. Which in return I have not had any CEL lights since than.

O-ring should fit all the way in the hole.

The "ears" of the MAS should sit flat on the bracket it bolts to. If need be, I can get a close-up pic of mine.

For those of you that cleaned the MAF with cleaner etc. What all did you spray down or not spray? I have a used MAF that needs cleaning and I want to make sure I don't mess it up before installing.

CRC makes some MAF Sensor Cleaner that you don't really gotta worry about... Spray it down let it evaporate and you should be good to go.

Just call RRM... if this is true they'll get another out to you ASAP. They are great about ensuring things get done right even if a few mistakes happen.

Why?? You take a chance of messing it up and them not taking it back. I'd call them and see what they recommend first before you stick yourself.
