Im curious, are you trying to say that your AC works periodically or just not at all until a certain RPM?

Sorry, it works until a certain rpm and sometimes just dies out of nowhere

Sorry about the ridiculously late reply, but you also say that it recovers if you park the car for a bit? Something you could try is adding more AC fluid (r134a) to it as it could be losing pressure causing the compressor to turn off. Slow leaks and all that. Now this may not work but its worth a shot IMO

I have the same issue, 152K miles on a 2003 VIII. I have A/C all day until I get into boost. On hot days I drive like a grandma just so the A/C works. If I need to jump on the highway or use an on-ramp I'm screwed. I'm curious to hear of anyone's solutions.

just emptied it and refilled it (not into the atmosphere, into the machine) and now it works damn near steady for a decent amount of time (15 min or so) but after it stops working, it will not turn on again for a looooong while, the engine just compensates with the revs but the compressor clutch doesn't kick in so i'd idle at like 1200
