D.I.Y. Fender Rolling Solution!

Disclaimer: This may not work for all applications

1. I cut a 16" length handle off of my broken, wood shovel (I found wood is a hard yet supple material that isn't too damaging to metal). This rod happens to be 1 3/8" diameter, but the diameter will vary for each application.

2. Place your car on a flat surface and take it out of gear.

3. By inserting the rod down low, behind the rear tire, and between the tire and the fender, slide it up until it stops / won't fit (If the rod fits without any resistance, the rod is probably to small and you'll need to increas the diameter):

4. Roll the car forward (I was able to do this by myself by using the spokes of the wheel for leverage) until the rod starts to pinch between the tire and fender. Start by keeping the rod at a slight angle so that it will start to bend the tab up. ..continue rolling the car forward. When it reaches the other side, stop and roll the car backward, repeating the process. By gradually increasing the angle of the rod, it will bend the tab further (Be careful not to grind the edge of your wheel with the rod!).

5. Repeat until desired results.

6. BE PATIENT!

*Note - The paint will more than likely crack along that inside edge. Preheating the fender with a heat gun may help, but I didn't bother and experienced paint chipping all along the inside edge but was able to keep it to that area, and not out on the front surface of the fender. I'm sanding the chips out now and will cover with touch-up paint. It honestly came out pretty nice and DID NOT distort the fender well!
