HELP! Thinking of putting 17's on my Ralliart!

Does anyone know what the exact width should be? From what I understand 17's normally don't come in the exact width that the Ralliart is made for? And what are the best tires that aren't too expensive?

As long as you have the correct offset, a 17x7 or 17x7.5 wheel should work just fine.

I just found this great test done by the Tire Rack on what seem like pretty good tires. They compared the Goodyear Eagle RS-A (Ralliart stock tires), Continental ContiSportContact 2, Dunlop SP Sport 9000 HydroMax, and the Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico. The results are at: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/max_perf_summer.jsp. Would anyone suggest I went with one of these tires?

Does anyone have these Pirelli's? According to the tests I mentioned in the previous post they are the best in terms of handling but worst in terms of comfort and noise, how bad can they be?

What kind of tires are you looking for? All-seasons or summer?

(being that we're both from Chi-town, I may already know the answer...)

How's the snow in your area??

Hey deltarider! Well over the last 2 nights I'd say close to 8 or 9 inches but it's starting to clear out. Let's just say yesterday I was driving around in my Nissan Pathfinder with 4 wheel drive and I had a hard time staying in control. Aside from the tires above have you heard of the Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S? I heard these are even good in snow.

I am actually looking for tires right now as well (for my stockers though). I was talking to Neal from Tire Rack, and he said the Pzero Neroes are a great all around tire. For me, it's between those and the Kumho Ecsta ASX.

I had the Pirellis this past summer, and now have the M and S version of them. They wear fast because they go fast very well. These are the best all around tires I have ever had! The noise is no problem, and I didn't notice a dfference in comfort.

Check out Discount Tire (or their website). They have some nice 17x7.5 for under $200 per wheel. Many of the are name-brands, too. 5Zingen and Konig.

Okay so now I feel like I want 17x7.5 wheels that aren't too expensive with the Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S. What size tire would that be and where is the best place to purchase them?

with a 7.5" rim you should probably go with 215/45-17.

Can someone verify this?

Okay well now I'm trying to wonder if it's worth getting 17" wheels and tires, should I just get the P Zero Nero M+S on the stock 16"s? What wheel size would that be?

A friend of mine at work got a brand of wheels off of ebay called Nippon for about $400 a set and they only were about 17lbs for 17x7
