I'm buying new wheels for my ralliart. It has it's stock wheels on it so I want to get tires with a smaller profile. The stock tire size is 205/50r16 and I want to throw 205/40r16 on it. I'm just dropping 10% profile size, What would happen? Or would 45 fit better?

Mileage would drop, ride would be worse, may accelerate quicker subject to traction.

I recommend using the stock tyre size if you have 16 inch rims.

not to mention low profile on stock diameter will most likely LOOK terrible...tiny wheels, big wheel gap, not a good combo.

Yea agreed! If you are going with a thinner tire, then you need to go with a bigger rim size, or else it will look odd.

i actually like the 205/55/16 tires better. and +1 to what everyone said. it won't look good lol.

I as well like 205/55/16 better.. but it seems you can only run it on the front? Or can you with like 5mm wheel spacers on the rear? When I mount 55/16's they seem to rub on the strut towers in the rear..
