09+ Lancer Ralliart F.A.Q. and Quick-Reference

Alright guys, for this thread what we'll do is post up in a simplified Q/A format. Any relevant information that should be included will be updated and added to the second post as often as possible and the way I'd like to do it is something like this:

Begin with a common question, for example

Q: Hey gais, wats the most gangster-tyte hellaflush wheels I can slam on da wip yo?

And then either a direct answer to the question or a link to where it can be found:

A: Daaang, y'all need to slam that bish on 16x6 -12 offset deep dish spokes son!
or
A: Yo dawg, peep dis - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09-ralliart-brakes-wheels-suspension/414037-2009-lancer-ralliart-wheels-tires-fitment.html

Now maybe that was a bad example since it's probably better suited to go in https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09...ds-thread.html in the engine section, but it gives you a general idea of what I'm looking to achieve. Great questions for this area may be more along the lines of "How much should I pay for my Ralliart?" and that sort of thing that gets annoying after the 36th time.

I'd like to keep this as clean and simple as possible to make it an easy-to-use thing so we can hopefully avoid all the mass reposting of threads asking the same old questions over and over. Anything you'd think should be added, please post up and we'll take care of it. Thanks

Where can I find Plasti-Dip and what can I do with it?
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09...lasti-dip.html

How fast is my Rallairt "out of the box"?
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09...4-mile-et.html

I have a 20XX RalliArt, but I can only find this part for a 20XX RalliArt, what do I do?
Nearly all parts are going to be interchangeable between 2009-2012 RalliArt turbo models. The only variances are body-specific parts (sportback v. sedan), package variances (Recaro, sunroof, H.I.D., etc.) and the sideskirt design change in 2010.

What's the difference between the Evo X and the Ralliart?
From the valve cover to the oil pan, and everything in-between on the long-block, both cars are the same. The air filter, catalytic converter, hood, antenna, and crappy interior (including audio and other accessories) are the same. Anything outside of that is where the differences happen.

Which parts are directly interchangeable between the Evo X and the Ralliart?
Drop-in filter
Upper intercooler piping (with appropriate coupler/s or EvoX FMIC)
Intercooler
Lower intercooler piping (with appropriate coupler/s & design or EvoX FMIC, some will not fit without battery relocation)
"Short" version exhaust downpipe
Test-pipe / High-flow catalytic converter
Throttle body
Cams/Springs/Retainers
Intake manifold
Fuel injectors
Fuel pump kits

Will modifying my car void my warranty?
Short answer: TALK TO YOUR DEALERSHIP. Everyone is different. Be honest, because they know when you mess with something, especially the computer. Yes the Magnusson-Moss act will protect you to some extent, but it shouldn't be used as an insurance policy.

In and of itself, not a whole lot of difference can be observed between hard pipes and your stock flex-pipe. Your stock pipes don't flow air as efficiently as hard pipes do.

Q - Under what circumstances should I upgrade my intercooler pipes?

A - When you buy a new intercooler.

Q - What is a typical progression in modifications?

A - This was mine (others can add to this):

Round One
Ultimate Racing Cone Filter Intake
Ultimate Racing Upper Intercooler Pipe
Ultimate Racing Lower Intercooler Pipe
Ultimate Racing Boost Pill
Evo X Intercooler
(This is when most people get an exhaust system)
ECU Reflash

Round Two
CBRD Intercooler
CBRD RAD Turbocharger
TiAL QR By-pass valve
Injector Dynamics 1000cc Injectors
Hallman Pro Manual Boost Controller
Walboro 255 Fuel Pump
ECU Reflash

Q - Will "X" part void my warranty?

A - TALK TO YOUR DEALERSHIP. Everyone is different. I worked everything out with my dealership before I touched the car. Be honest, because they know when you mess with something.

Yes. I see that the price is no longer the same. Ouch.

(Why did you ask? The price is the price.)

Updated the second post with some more common topics, namely drag racing/launching and fuel economy posts. I'm drawing a blank on what other topics should be in here, so if you have suggestions, please let me know.

Also, for the record, if I start seeing more new threads about topics already specifically listed here, I'm just going to close them and reference the posts here to help alleviate some of the clutter and make the knowledge bank here that much more valuable. Thanks!

If you buy a VTA BOV you will likely run into some drivability issues, but MOST recirculating aftermarket BPV's will function decently without retuning. Just be wary of the HKS SSQV as the 4B11T does not cooperate well with the HKS valve.

Also realize that if you are still on the stock turbo (or even a stock X turbo for that matter) switching to a valve with a spring that is too stiff (Tial is a good example) may cause fluttering and other issues. I have heard that the direct replacement BPV from Synchronic is a good choice for mild turbo setups, but cannot confirm that with actual experience.
