Maintenance Cost

So contacted the dealership about my upcoming 60,000 mile/96,000 km service. This is a big one involving belt changes/SST oil change/ diff oil change/spark plugs and the usual suspects (oil change/tire rotate/air filter change). The cost is coming out to $2700 CAD ($2500 USD), which nearly cost me to drop the phone. I bought the car just after its last big maintenance and I've only had to change the sst fluid (which cost $350 2 years ago). Didn't think it would get this bad. Am I getting hosed right now or is this what I would expect to pay regardless of where I went (including private shops/tuners)?

If you are like me, and don't know how to do your own mechanical work, there are other places you can take your car besides the dealership. I tried 3 different shops to finally find a place I can trust to do it right. For instance, I just had my serpentine belt replaced for $150. My SST fluid, trans case, and rear diff changed for $200. (Labor costs)

The dealership only hires UNION certified professional techs so they charge like $120/hour. Local shops cost between $50-$100/hour.

Yeah I would do simple maintenance like oil/filters but replacing hoses/tranny fluid is beyond my skill set. Yeah I called another dealership and they said $1600 taxes in. Not happy but easier to swallow. Still waiting on a local shop and one across the border but looks like this will be the best one.
