New 14 ralliart owner (maybe)
So I could pick up my new '14 ralliart today. I'm looking because I want something that will be fun and dependable in all weather. I was concerned about the summer tires it comes with but the dealer said with awd he thinks I'll be fine. Everything I read here says otherwise. Any other personal stories? Considering trying it as is and if it's no good either get some all season or some snow tires.
It has the touring package which is nice though not a fan of the lip spoiler.
I'm also a bit leery of the sst transmission, having only owned manuals before. I'm afraid I'll miss my stick shift, also concerned about the long term dependability.
I also noticed it seems I could order a 15 wrx similarly equipped for about same price and it seems that might be a bit more car for the dollar. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

Went with the ralliart. Deciding factor was that it was priced to move. They really wanted it sold and also gave me an amazing credit on trade in plus discounts off sticker. And I figure both cars would be great fun cars anyway so I am a new '14 ralliart owner. First time "import" owner as well.

Welcome to the family and great choice! I may be biased, but the '14 RA is a great machine. Even my friends who have '13 and '14 WRX's comment on the tranny's quick shifting and stiff suspension. Enjoy it!

Thanks everyone. My previous car was a sky redline. Loved it and amazing handling, but I need something more weather durable. My car before that was an srt4 that I had installed mopar stage 2.
I'm hoping this car will get me where I need to go throughout the winter.
Argh run glad to hear your wrx buddies are impressed with the ralliart too. So far I definitely enjoy it. Well as much as I can with 30 miles on the odo. During my 40 mile drive to work tomorrow I'll be playin the mpg game most of the drive probably. Lol.

You'll definitely enjoy her in the winter. Got mine back in January and the AWC is amazing. As for MPG, best I've personally gotten was 34mpg going about 62mph in Sport/Manual mode. My morning commute nets me about 31mpg in Normal/Auto mode but that's because I go closer to 70mph. If you do any city driving, that's where it'll kill you though. Have fun!

Beware the trip computer. My overall mpg based on miles driven divided by gallons purchased after 3+ years is 22.561mpg but the trip comp says I constantly average between 25-30. This is my commuter car so 25% of the time it sits in traffic and 75% it cruises at 60-70mph. You are really hypermiling if you can really get 31mpg. Good job!

I do tend to hypermile. Pumped up my tires to 43-45psi in the summer (tire max pressure is 51psi and I'm the only rider with no additional equipment) and keep about a car length away from the person infront of me travelling between 55-70mph. On average I get 25-27mpg mixed with city and highway driving.
