What performance gains for about $3000

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2011 Lancer Ralliart a month ago. This car is simply amazing I was wonder I have 3 years of warranty left but I probably don't care about voiding it. I wanted to see if I took the car to a tuner shop what can be done to the car if my budget is $3000?

Just some basic whp and torque numbers with what mods needed would be awesome

Thanks!!

Exhaust, intercooler and a tune would make a difference. But for 1400ish, you could be looking at a turbo swap like I did. Which is probably best bang for your buck, keeping the car reliable too.

Would the $1400 include labor to install and tune? How much whp and torque can i get if i do a evo x turbo?

I had more like $1000 + tune into it all said in done. I got charged 400 for labor, and I sold my stock Ralliart turbo setup to a lancer guy for $800.
Youd be looking at identical potential of an evo stock with a tune.
Best bang for your buck Imo. You keep the reliability while putting your car in a different league then stock turbo Ralliarts. Potential can be up to 400whp. 300whp flat after the turbo.
How I see it is you could beat around the bush with small mods like intake and exhaust over a year or two, or you can can do a mod that you can build around for many years.

A 20T TD04 rebuild by Turbos R Us (aka Chris Robbins) is about $800. Installation is usually around $400-500 for labor and you'll need another $500-600 for a dyno tune (MUST be done by an SST specialist - WTF, Kozmic, 5150, etc.) plus $115 for a 3-port EBCS.
Turbo XS turbo back exhaust is $770 on LancerShop.
An Evo X intercooler with piping and BPV is about 250-300.

Add that up and you've got the best possible performance for $3000 - about 320-350 HP and well over 300 torque. Anything more will definitely require injectors too (ID 1000s are the best option), so that's another $400-500.

Also, since your car is used, make sure your SST fluids have been changed recently.

This! Try to find a used Evo X turbocharger for a couple hundred bucks.

We build a nice intercooler kit for the Ralliart.

Good luck and enjoy!
