Blinking Reverse, restart car and all is well for a few minutes, p0846, p1637
Hi guys, hope everyone is well out there. Have a 2009 Ralliart auto with 103,300 on it. Car has some type of issue and im not sure where to start. Car had codes P0846 and p1637. When car is put into reverse i get a blinking "R" sometimes and car will not go into gear. Once I restart car it goes right into gear without a problem but within a few mins back to not going into gear. Anyone?????
Just done a Complete tranny flush 7.5 quarts of Daqueen fluid and new filter and I flushed it with 8 liters of min oil. no fix, HELP???

Done, why done? Shifts perfect in manual mode and a good bit of the time it's fine when in auto mode. Doesn't seem like a done tranny to me, maybe a sensor or something but DONE, can you give me some better info other than, "it's done"? I mean why would you say it's sounds like it's done, please elaborate, thanks. I hope it's not " DOne"!!! lol

I meant "done" as in probably the shift fork magnet is about to go out or as Veronica said a solenoid or mech unit is going. The only shop I'd trust in the states would be Kozmic to fix a trans. Have you gotten the rest of the car inspected for other issues?
Another guy was having trans issues only to find out that one of his wires for an unrelate issue was chewed out by rodents which he fixed to remedy his issue.

Two things, having done the fluid change recently makes me wonder if that had anything to do with it, getting the level right can be tricky and two did you check what those codes mean?
P0846 - Transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch "B" circuit range/performance.
P1637 - EEPROM system (DTC storing malfunction)... Seems to have something to do with the TCU storing information, some people said it has no effect on performance.

I read through the How to write up and several people got 7.4 to 7.5 with the cooler empty and my memory isn't perfect I admit but I remember 7point something... Also one guy mentioned all but 1/4 cup of the mineral oil flush came out so sounds like most of it comes out...
Correct me if I'm wrong

Also I doubt and hope it's not this but at least one other guy made this mistake, you're sure it was mineral oil and not mineral spirits? One is an oil that I know will not damage this SST and the mineral spirits is a thinner, a solvent which eats lots of stuff including some plastics, I've heard of people using it to clean(but not flush) transmission parts and only on metal parts.
