Wider Tires for '09 RalliArt

Guys, I would like to replace the stock tires with a wider set. Now I DON'T know a whole lot about tires and rims, but would I to replace the stock set with the EVO tires. I understand that I would need to replace my rims in order to do that. What is the max tire width that I can go with? What does that mean in terms of suspension overload and steering control? What are some of your recommendations for wider rims and tires?

I have seen members on here with 9' wide wheels the most important thing is the offset of the rim get the right offset and it will work, I myslef have 18x8 Rotas with 225/45/18 tires its not the biggest you can do but it fits very nice and makes the car handle better..

I've got 225/45/18s on a set of 18x8 et46. They fit perfectly with no modifications needed.

There is a metal lip around the wheel arches that has to be pushed back to make room for your tire or else it rubs and tears up your tire.

It sounds like he is specifically looking to run with EVO tires, not necessarily EVO rims. EVO tires are 245 width, which should fit well on 8" to 9" rims. That being said, I'm not sure of any offset that would allow you to run 245s without rolling the fenders.

My suggestion would be to consider 235s instead. With the proper offset (usually +40 to +48), you won't need to roll your fenders and should still have plenty of inside clearance.

You could run an 18x8.5 45-48et with a 245 and probably not have to roll.

Yeah, but it might be close. And on the upper end, I'd be worried about the inside clearance. I guess that someone could try... *cough* *cough*
