Grinding noise when turning the wheels

Hope this is the right section. Noticed this morning when turning the wheels, there is a slight grinding noise each time.

Thoughts on the matter ?

Thanks!

Update: So cruised the car around for lunch and no longer hear the noise... very strange

I just started having the same issue; I was thinking it might be a CV joint..those rubber boots. I gets worse when its cold, assuming rubber gets hard and its mostly metal against metal. Drives fine on the highway and any non aggressive turning anything less than 45 degrees.

lol totally forgot about this. Not sure if this was the cause but months later after I traded in my RA , my wife told me that she accidentally drove it onto a parking parking block

Never let your wife or girlfriend drive your pride and joy! Show them who wears the pantalones!

power steering fluid level is fine. The noise only happens with cold weather (less than 60 deg F).

Mine seems to be more like a popping noise when it is below 50º but the same thing, only when turning. Just fine when going straight.

Suspension bearings located under the top hat. Have the same problem, very severe. Changing soon after I get more information.

A "clunking" while turning is quite possibly a bad CV joint.
Inspect the boot for tears/leaking grease.

My car started doing this same noise now that its lowered. It is way too cold in Wisconsin right now for me to get too the root cause of the problem but as soon as it warms up I will and let everyone know. Perhaps the driveline angle does not like the lowered stance. It does not seem to do anything but cause a clicking noise while turning the steering wheel left and right while moving slowly or sitting still. It is not the CV joints since it even makes the noise while sitting still.

The noise goes away in the summer and I want to say the noise decreases as the engine warms up. I might try to troubleshoot it this weekend
