Question Need advice on '11 Ralliart front ball joint replace

Can anyone help with advice on replacing the front ball joint on my '11 Ralliart? Can seem to get the old one out. One youtube video of an 07 Lancer shows a metal ring on top that can be knocked out. Not sure if mine is the same configuration.
The dealer doesn't even sell a replacement ball joint. They say you have to buy the whole control arm. Help!

IMO for the extra couple $$...I would just replace the whole LCA. Unless you have access to the right ball joint replacement tools thats the route I would take. With a new LCA with new ball joint you get brand new LCA bushings which most likely your original OEM ones have seen better days and MUCH easier to replace.

MrGalantkid,

Thanks for the reply. I came to the same conclusion and changed it out today. It would be great if I could find an upgraded front hub. The stock and aftermarket ones just don't hold up very well on the track. '91 Galant VR4? Very rare!

Thanks again,

JBN

You need to tear the joint dust cover and it might have a snap ring. Remove snap ring and use ball joint tool or press to remove..

Install new joint press. Install clip install cover done
