Need help! Acd problem!!

So I just started to get the flashing "Tarmac" light. I've been researching the ACD but have not been able to find the answer to my question. So my fluid reservoir is full. The manual states to check the fluid after 90mins or more. After waiting that time frame and checking, it is full. Checking the fluid before the 90mins, right after driving, the fluid levels drops from full to almost min level. So with this check I assume the pump is working properly. Also, the flashing "Tarmac" light doesn't flash all the time. It starts flashing about after 30mins of driving. Then when it flashes its intermittent. It flashes for a couple seconds then stops for a couple minutes then starts again. Wondering if the pump is starting to die, or since fluid still seems to be moving, maybe the sensor is going bad. Any thoughts?

Just went for a drive and no problems. No flashing Tarmac light. Also note, I was in sport mode. Don't think that would affect anything though

Sounds like the pump might be going bad. How many miles on the car? Where in MD do you live?

I've read somewhere that driving without tpms sensors may turn AWC off. Don't know if that's true or not.

Just read in another thread that a sudden heat wave affect someone else's car 2 years ago. Might explain why nothing happened when I drove last night as it was 20degrees cooler

Have you ever had the pump replaced?

Pump has never been replaced. As I was researching, seems other people have had the same problem. Sudden rise in ambient temperature causes some kind of fault and cooler temperatures it works just fine. Seems no one knows the real cause though.

Get it checked out soon, because Mitsubishi will replace the ACD Pump under warranty as long as you are under 100,000 miles.

If not under warranty, you can replace yourself (see my post).

Yeah, I'm not bringing my car to the dealer lol. Yes I can still switch between Tarmac gravel and snow modes. It's was just under 90degrees yesterday and the Tarmac light didn't start flashing until about 45mins of driving. Also, I think it just might be a motor issue, I do not hear it start up at all but when I move the car even a few feet tge ACD res level drops.

The dealer will read the acd codes for free...if they may say your not throwing the right codes yet and make you wait till it dies. Just mention the warranty.

Just got mine replaced under the extended warranty. Also had the 2 latest recalls done and a tpms reprogrammed that wasn't working. Mitsubishi paid $1,200, I paid $0. Although my pump was completely dead, I was getting the 4WD Service Required light. I'm sure yours will be going soon if it's blinking.

That's awesome!
I am glad it was resolved at $0 for you.
