Post Ralliart driveline fluid change summary with part numbers and torques

Hi, I recently did my transfer, TC-SST and rear differential oil changes on my 2010 Ralliart Sportback. There are detailed procedures and photos all over the forums, but many of them were Evo specific so I thought I'd summarize the Ralliart details here after having found some differences. Also, many threads I stumbled upon didn't provide the tool sizes or washer part numbers. If you notice any discrepancies, let me know, and I'll update this message so it stays accurate and useful.

Transfer (front/center differential):
  • Drain plug: 15/16" socket (24 mm would also work but a bit loose). 32 Nm / 24 ft-lb. Washer part number is 3200A102.
  • Fill plug: 17mm socket. 32 Nm / 24 ft-lb. Washer part number is MF660036.
  • Mitsubishi fluid is Diaqueen LSD SAE-90 (1 gallon container which will more than suffice). Part number is 3775610 (not confirmed).
  • Over 1 liter came out for me.
Rear differential:

  • Drain plug: 10 mm allen (3/8" might work but would be quite loose). 32 Nm / 24 ft-lb. Washer part number is MB001294.
  • Fill plug: 15/16" wrench of crow's foot (no room for socket). 32 Nm / 24 ft-lb. Washer part number is MF660036.
  • Mitsubishi fluid is Diaqueen LSD SAE-90 (1 gallon container which will more than suffice). Part number is 3775610 (not confirmed).
  • Only about 500 mL came out for me. Lots of iron filing the first time, barely any the next times.
TC-SST:
  • Drain plugs: 8 mm allen. 25 Nm / 18 ft-lb. No washer. Most documentation shows 3 drain plugs. However, on my car, my transmission only had 2. (One of the rear drain plugs' bosses was present but not drilled or tapped for a plug.)
  • Fill plug: 8 mm allen. 25 Nm / 18 ft-lb. No washer.
Note this is under the battery for the Ralliart, so the air duct and battery need to be removed. The air filter and box do not have to be moved (unlike the Evo). This plug is also partially hidden by a wire harness support so that would need to be removed too for easy filling.
  • Filter: 32 mm allen. Unknown torque. Part number is 2513A040. No washer.
  • Mitsubishi fluid is Diaqueen SSTF-1 (1 gallon container so you'll need more than one container). Part number is C0002610 (not confirmed).
  • About 5.8 liters came out for me (including the fluid in the filter housing and the transmission cooler.

Great info but I thought the SST held like 1.5 - 2 gallons?

Yes, I meant that the fluid container is about 1 gallon, so you'll need more than one container.

I just did my transfer case and rear diff this past weekend following one of the EvoX's how to's. I wish i saw this thread, because I was very confused when looking for the torque transfer part of the rear differential.

I guess all we have is the differential mechanism part to change out. Purchased the DIAMOND ATF SP III for nothing, good thing it wasn't that expensive.

Doing this on your own, How long per Job?

SST - (x) Hours

Transfer - (x) Hours

Rear Diff - (x) Hours

Did you also price it out at your dealer?

I am at the 30K mark, so I will be doing this any day now...

rear diff 10 mins

transfer case 15 mins..weird angle for fill

SST 30-35mins, like 2 gallons of fluid to fill plus removing air filter box, plus the filter is kind of a weird location but you can get to it by pulling the fender liner back, on the driver side.

I did this all on a lift so add maybe 5-10 mins for jacking the car up?

Its not hard at all trust me.

When I did the SST drain it was about 7.5 Qts, don't forget to drain the transmission cooler as well. I had 3 plugs on the bottom.

This is what I used when I did my services. It's also all in my build thread also :-)

I used pentosin FFL-2 which Mitsu just tested in my car and it passed the test. Just wanted to inform all :-)

Thanks!

I believe with the SSP OEM filter and 8 qts of oil ffl-2 for under $250, if u go with the dealership it's going to be above or close to $500. If u get the SSP reusable filter the. It will cost u under $200 per oil change.

My recommendation is to change ur oil every 15k miles. again just my recommendation! Cheers!

I just did my rear diff fluid change, I had a can of LSD fluid that I used for years and it only had a little bit left and wasnt sure if I had enough so I needed to know exactly how much it takes. Just wanted to share this piece of info since I wasn't able to find it anywhere. The Ralliart rear diff capacity is somewhere between 650ml to 800ml. I added an extra pump of 150ml fluid after I filled it with 650ml and it started to leak out on me.

Also I'd recommend keep your drain plug clean and apply a thin coat of anti seize on the surface. The hex started to round out on me and I was glad it didn't strip. If anyone has the part number of that drain plug (cannot find anywhere on the internet) or if you know whether the Evo X one would fit please let me know because I wanna replace the plug next time I did the fluid change thanks.
