Whenever I steer the car, I hear cracking noise and cracking vibrations on the chassis. It's mostly the driver side that's doing it but I'm hearing the right side too. The driver side axle was replaced with an Advance Auto one since I was in a hurry to fix this car but the right side is still the stock OEM. Is it axle related or something else?

I wish I can but I don't have a camera capable of capturing audio.

I can just tell you I hear popping/cracking from the front left and a little from the front left. Sounds like it's going to snap or something.

evo axles are very tough to break, not saying its imposible.

but many 500-800 WHP evos still running stock axles.

check ther components before changing random parts

go to youtube and search videos on bad wheel bearing and CV joints. It will help you know what those sound like when they go bad. I just did this exercise on my DD.

Any suspension work or mods?
Could be a faulty upper strut bearing or the shock may not be lined up correctly (OEM shock- There are two holes, one on the perch, one on the strut hat, that need to be lined up) Very well could be the spring popping in the perch.

If you do not see grease (Yellow) slung all over the under side of your car, and do not see any tears in your cv boots, I would vote against a faulty axle. I had an axle go out, by means of grease squeezing by the cv band. I recommend buying a used OE axle from AWDmotorsports.

I have Megan coilovers and they look to still be in tact. I tightened up the spring since it was loose before and it rides better. Only big problem is the front right top pillow ball mount is shot so loud clickings from that wheel every time I hit a bump.

It's a weird feeling when I steer the wheel. I can feel it crackling on the steering wheel as I steer left and right. I'm also wondering about the grease inside the boots. It just feels like something isn't lubricated whenever I steer. Whatever. I'll have to investigate more tomorrow...

That started to happen to my axles too (or my top pillow ball mount, not really sure) and then one day it stopped making that sound.

i am having a clicking noise coming from the front left wheel area when i make tight right turns...any ideas?

That sounds like wheel bearing to me.

wouldnt wheel bearing also produce a humming noise?

Depends how the bearing fails. I've seen wheel bearings make all different kind of noises. If you turn the wheel and you hear a noise on the opposite side its usually the wheel bearing. The bearing is being loaded because the weight is being transferred onto it.
