that seem to work fairely well.
Too much enrichment will hurt idle. It will not allow the car to idle right. You have to play with crank injector time tables and start extra decay.

Another solution is out to fix the root of the slow sync problem. Ever heard an S2000 start with an EMS? It fires almost instantly. Reason being, it has a 12 crank tooth trigger and a much more aem friendly sync strategy.

Search around, the parts are available for a 12tooth trigger on the evo. Going from a 4tooth crank trigger to a 12 tooth trigger will improve the sync time(start time), reduce spark scatter, and improve overall resolution.

Yes, I use the rpm vs start tables all the time. Opening the idle valve(similar to pushing the throttle slightly) helps start up time. Using the Crank initial pulse table will also solve a lot of the cold start issues i see people post about.

What I was referring to is the amount of time the AEM ECU takes to sync the 8tooth count(2 physical teeth counting each edge, twice per cycle) and turning ON the parameter "Stat Sync". No amount of ECU tuning will make this a faster process. What you'll notice if you monitor the Stat Sync Parameter during cranking is the ecu takes about 3 seconds of cranking time before the Stat Sync will turn to ON, giving the slow AEM EVO start. (The lower the battery voltage the more noticable this is) By increasing the tooth count to 24 (12tooth wheel) which the GEMS/AEM15 ecus are designed around, this delay isn't there.

Do you know where to find tis wheels. I know mega squirt and electromotive has them. does anyone make a kit and can you use the same oem crank sensor? thanks

I've got mine firing up almost like stock on E85 in cold weather without the trigger plate mentioned above. Takes allot of time and adjusting over a course of a few weeks with different temps and what not, but I think I got it down pretty good now.

Video of my car in 30 degree garage on E85 cold start.

and a thread I posted with some tables already adjusted for people to try out. Should work fairly well for anyone with an AEM. Might have to tweak a bit on it but it's well worth the effort!

I used to use triggerdisk in all EVOs 7 and 8. When I tried in EVO9 I got big problems with Mivec. It does not work. There is no synchro between intake cam and crank...

The start of engine is perfect, but if you want to use it in EVO9, you have to know what way you will fix the trouble with mivec...((((
