Running AEM on Cam Angle Sensor Only?! on 2.4L
Hey guys, I'm doing a Engine swap from a evo with 2.4L to mine. 2005 RS --> 2005 MR.
The swap was easy, and I copied the harness as there were some splicing.
The motor i'm swapping into has DSM Cam angle sensor and it was tapped and spliced to connect to the stock harness. One thing I noticed is it's got it's own "crank angle" (triangula) plug, and it's the end that goes into the engine harness. When I connected, I noticed the crank sensor harness would not able to be used. Is this normal? Can AEM be started without knocking the crank angle?
I for sure remember that the crank sensor harness was not connected.
Just asking because I havn't found anything from the search function.

Edit:
Also the ignition wiring is swap between left and right side of coil? Seems like it fires opposite. After putting my 2.0 into the RS. I didn't know ignition was swapped, and tried to start it , and found swapping the left and right side of harness worked. Is this due to the DSM cam sensor or just 2.4L Block in general?

Never mind guys, figured it out. Scott (one of guys who understands the DSM CAS System) told me "The DSM style has both TDC and the bank switching slots in it. The EMS only needs the DSM style CAS connected." Now I see how it worked all this time.
