2012 se awd....cvt
Hi all!
This is my first post and first car as well! I love everything about it...except one thing :\ the CVT. Any other owners out there that are planning to mod or have modded a CVT? I'm in love with the car but I am iffy about the CVT itself and have 2nd thoughts about buying this beautiful car just because of that.

I am with you on that one. Everything is great about it except that. If they had just put paddle shifters or tiptronic in or something. I read somewhere that the paddle shifters are plug and play but that thread seems to have died off and I tried to contact the people in it and got no response.
I would love to switch it to a 6sp but that is a couple grand for something I want vs need.

It would be awesome with paddle shifters! I test drove a 2009 Ralliart with all the fixings and I fell in love. It had 64k miles, 2 owners, cost 16k, but was in 2 wrecks. It drove amazing but needed a good bit of work under the hood :\ I was spoiled by that car so when I drive a CVT around I'm like

I have a 2014 SE AWC with paddle shifters and it's still a lot of fun. I went to it from a stick civic and there are definitely times that I miss driving stick, but the SE is one hell of a car.

I had paddle shifters on a 2010 GTS -- loved the CVT so much I hardly used them (mostly for "down shifting").
The CVT is very handy for auto-x, especially when combined with the AWD of the SE. Ceramic brake pads and better tires help as well and keep it "Street Stock". Of course I can't compete against a good raliart or evo, but I also get 32 MPG on the daily drive.
Plan to drop a V6 (mild -- 240 HP range) in and keep the CVT. I'd love to have the SST of course, but it's out of my price range.
