Angry TPMS sensors :( expensive in Canada!!!

So I'm still getting used to paying $9000.00 (roughly) more for my GSR than I would if I lived in the US of A. Just so I can say I have a warranty... Then today I go into my local Canadian Mitsu dealer to look at TPMS sensors for the new wheels I bought and BAM! Another way out of wack price hits me in the face....

So I ask for 4 TPMS sensors and they come back with the price of $654.00 including tax. I look at the guy and say "... you know I can walk into a dealer in the U.S. and get these for about $100.00 each..." He looks at me blankly.

So I decide since I am going to be in California next week to call a dealer in Burbank. After some calling back and forth (they were busy so they called me back) they tell me they can give them to me for $90.00 each. Almost $300.00 less than the same dealer in Canada (for a set of 4)..... What the hell?!

Dear Mitsubishi: I don’t mind paying a premium for parts etc. if everyone is paying the same!!!! Seriously though, almost half price? Its a wonder we Canadians buy these cars at all.....

You should order TPMS sensors from TireRack. They were $50 each when I bought them.

As for $650 for sensors... I sure hope that was including install and programming! But still... that's pricey.

Im down in Burbank California visiting family, $90.00 each from pretty much any dealer down here.....

I guess I could have kept looking on ebay, but im a little more confident when I buy from the dealership.

I just got quoted $450 for a set of TMPS ... plus $80 to install them, and $100 to program them.
Went to a parts store and they quoted me $250, which I thought was more fair (but still a tad much), and I was assured their mechanic could install them and pair them to my car.
Would have patiently waited and got a used set for less if I wasn't in a bit of a rush (new rims going on soon!)

You can transfer your OEM TPMS from your factory wheels to your new aftermarket wheels.
That's what I did a month ago when I changed my wheels.

Thought about that, but want to keep a set in my winters (which are my stock rims).
I like watching my fuel consumption while I drive, and last time one of my tires was low on air, the 'low tire pressure' warning kept popping up even after I had cleared it. Maybe I'm just picky though ... I don't even like driving with a jacket on. :P
