Question Need some Help and Ideas

Hey all,

I'm wondering if anyone has done a HID conversion to their lancers yet?
if not, i'm hoping i can be the first one in the GTA to do a HID conversion. but if so, can anyone give me some ideas on where i can get the HID conversion kit from the GTA (North York, Scarborough, Unionville, Richmond Hill, Markham)?

Also, is DIY possible on this? hehe... i wanna save some big $$$ cuz i'm still a student

Hope someone can give me a hand on this!

Whats the point in getting really bright lights? High beams are annoying as it is.

I have a set of the PIAA lights and they aren't even close to HID. HID's are brighter and have a different tint. The PIAA's are obviously better than stock though, a good buy for sure.

You can get bulbs that look like HID's but they won't be as bright as HID's. There was a forum on here about a HID look a like bulb not too long ago. Just search on it if your interested in them.

Regular socketed Xenon like PIAA 9007 is actually dimmer than your stock bulbs even if they look brighter to the human eyes, don't get them they are a waste of money and you will also be stopped by the cops since they don't comply to DOT specs as they are dimmer and a road hazard in rain and snow.

Ah... i got a set and they are definitely brighter than stock. I didn't get the blue tinted ones. I got their super whites or whatever they're called.

I think dot complian refers to the headlamp assembly not the bulbs themselves.

Wrong !!!, the tinted bulbs with 55/60w are actually dimmer than stock since they tinted the bulbs with blue tint and does not pass DOT specs, so these bulb companies like PIAA, APC, Eurolite made the filament thinner to throw out more wattage to pass the DOT specs claiming to be 85/90w and this is why these bulbs burn up so easily once they have impact like hitting a bump or something like that. My Honda Civic car club did a lumination test at 10,20,30,40,50 feet with a luminence meter and the stock bulbs were brighter in all conditions rain, snow etc. This is why they are not legal if they run at 55/60w and you will not find a reputable headlight company like Hella sell these bulbs who sell their real HID systems to MB, BMW and Audi. Dudes this is just plain dangerous if your drive at night in the rain or snow !
