Mellon Tuning EVO *video* 1/4 mile results 11-1-07 11's on pump gas baby!
60' 1.67
E.T. 11.91
MPH 114
*video* http://www.racevideoforums.com/forum...ead.php?t=2793
I think it's got a better 60' with some new street tires, these are completely shot. I also think I can get more mph out of it with a little more tuning. In the 4 runs I had I picked up 1mph each time as I adjusted the timing 1* each run.
here are the last 3 runs, track vs g-tech respectively:
Track G-Tech
60' 1.71 1.80
E.T 12.05 12.13
MPH 112.90 112.87
60' 1.74 1.83
E.T. 12.04 12.24
MPH 113.97 113.29
60' 1.67 1.70
E.T. 11.91 11.92
MPH 114.13 114.27
I'd say it's accurate enough.
My original goal with this car was to have a 375+ awhp daily driver on pump gas that can run 11's.
the new goal is 10's
next up:
1) new street tires
2) PPI Ported intake manifold and 65mm Throttle Body
3) Aquamist HSF-5 meth kit
4) Forge heavy duty wastegate actuator
5) raising the boost from a 25psi spike to 30PSI
6) leaner AFR
7) more timing

Great times man. My highest trap speed w/my green was 116mph. Haha, all i could crack was a 12.4, need to practice launching. Now i got the Exedy on too, btw, where'd you get your g-tech from? Thinking on picking one up, just don't know where to get one.

you'll love the exedy, I didn't even bother trying to track it with the stock junk, it couldn't hold a hard launch once I got the current mods on the car, I was having to roll out.
I bought the g-tech directly from their website if I remember correctly, it's been a few years. It's a wonderful tuning aid to determine if new mods/tune are helping or hurting and sometimes the track will have timing errors and not get you a time for that perfect run and with this I'll at least have an idea of what happened.

I'm not trying to talk you down at all...I'm just really curious now that you barely broke into 11's with Evo Green and all supporting mods, and this fellow accomplished the same with low boost, pump gas, and stock turbo:

Any idea why that might be ?

the evogreen gave me 35awhp over the stock turbo...not impressed, the meth kit goes in asap so I can see what this turbo can really do.
I know he said in his thread that the 110 was only as a precaution but let's not be naive here, that's race gas, no comparison whatsoever should be made between those runs. If I was running 110 I'd be in the low 11's
also let's not forget there's probably a little more in it, I had 4 runs and picked up 1mph in each of the last 3 tweaking the tune, I wasn't finished but they shut the place down.

octane level should not matter if u dont tune for it....according to what the guy said.....it is just a safety precaution.
i guess the question to ask is if he really made no changes to the tune with the 110 octane.

running 11's on 110 octane is impressive but it's not the same as running 11's on 93 octane.
