Eagle Summit/Mitsu RVR SG clone sleeper: 11.69@120

Took my Summit to the track for the first time this year. It was a very wet night, so I wasn't expecting anything too impressive, but set my PB!

Stock 4G63 block, 20G turbo @23psi and pump gas.

Sorry I missed your post. This is a stock tranny with Shep Racing DSM 4 spider center diff and a matching Viscous Coupling. Stock VC is around 30% smaller than DSM VC, other that aside, transmission is identical to DSM AWD transmission.

This was the fastest race to day:

I wouldn't believe it, if I didn't see it! This IS amazing! Not even my car, yet I am SO PROUD! What made you pick this platform? Congratulations! I bet you are so hated by embarrassing all those muscle cars! Lol! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the kind words! This has been a very rewarding project! People really LOVE this van at the track! Even the V8/NASCAR crowd, who usually can not stand imports, ends up rooting for it!

Yahoo Autos did a story on it which will answer most questions. But I wanted to make one of these going back to the 90's, when they were too expensive as an extra "toy car".

https://www.yahoo.com/autos/story-be...153000008.html

But even people who fell victim to this van, are pretty cool about it. The owner of that rev Viper turned out to be a very nice guy and gave me two more rematches. He should have beaten me in one of those races, but he missed his 2-3 shift.

BTW, this is the NASCAR style race I also do with it:

Awesome, we watch those goofy seekonk spectator drags at work during lunch. The announcer is hilarious.

Back in the day I always wanted to somehow put Lancer bodypanels on an Evo, but your work is even better than that.

Nice project! Any updates.

"with a 1/4 mile minimum of 11.5 at 120. no one in USA has done this that I am aware of"

I have done 11.65 at 120 with very mild (25psi) pump gas tune. I do not have a roll bar, so I am limited to 11.50 and my home track is VERY strict! So I am not pushing it there.

Just a quick update on this van. I am hording a bunch of part for the next level of updates:

- half gas tank mod (get rid of saddle tank feature)
- 5 lug conversion (DSM spindles up front and RVR spindles in the rear)
- RVR rear disc conversion (it currently has drums)
- Big/light brakes upfront (using TCE DSM brakes).

I would also like to upgrade to EVO 8-9 rear end, but we will see if I can work that in.
