For track/autocross driving, I teach push pull for any novice or intermediate student. This includes prestaging hand positions for upcoming corners, always maintaining contact the wheel while shifting ( a la sliding versus grip/release/grip), and don't crush the steering wheel. Small things that add up over enough corners and enough laps to help maintain control and help understand the tactile feedback the car is giving to you.

I've been trying to get in the habit of push-pull. Coming from offroad, I'm used to not having to move my hands much with a fast steering car, and the inputs don't have to be as fast. I tend to drive one handed when just driving around town.

Push pull is the way to go. I've started with shuffling but, have moved to push-pull. It promotes smoothness.

it really depends on what and where I'm driving, but mostly hand over hand.

I use push pull for daily driving and a combination of the two depending on the track and corners.

while driving around town, i usually just grab the top of the wheel and turn (I drive with one hand). If it's tight, I do it truck-driver style. My civic is, like, 100 turns from lock to lock. It's ridiculous. It needs a trucker knob.
In the Evo I (think) I leave my left hand at 9 o'clock the whole time and use my right hand to help with u-turns.
I haven't thought about it in so long... trying to remember how I do it LOL
