No gains from e85

Hello everyone!

I called my tuner because I was ready to get a tune on e85. I told
Him my list of mods and he called back the next day and said that there would be no real gains from e85 on my car. I just wanted to get more opinions to make sure.
Mod list: MBC, TBE, upper and lower I/c piping, 10.5 hotside, evo IX bov, Megan o2 dump, walbro 255, and 1050cc injectors tuned at 24psi. He said there would be no real gains since I'm pushing the effeciency of the stock turbo and should steer instead on getting a new intercooler. Any thoughts?

Oh there are gains to be had without a doubt especially over pump gas! Much more then just a larger IC will do for you.

Anyone know of some tuners here in the southeast that isn't on crack? I'm totally ready to jump on e85, other than my slight concern for the drivetrain at whatever the new power level will be.

guy never heard of ignition timing? not to mention the cooling properties e85 has in itself alone will gain power over the pump gas alone.

When I was maxed out on hp with my stock viii turbo my tuner said the opposite, that e85 was the next step to make power as opposed to bigger turbo and expensive mods. He said exactly what "tscompusa" said that he can put more timing and more boost which equates to more power without getting knock that u would get on pump. Not to mention it helps cool the intake charge some which also helps power and keeping knock down. I made 45 more horsepower on e75 than 93 pump and we could of got more aggressive, but I told him to leave a little on the table since we are gonna tweak it when the winter mix goes away and it warms up.

Where in the southeast are you exactly? Mellon racing has the record for the fastest evo on stock ecu, they know what they are doing! They are in Mississippi near the tn border.

I'm in Huntsville Alabama. So Mellon isn't too far away. Is my drivetrain still safe at what the new power levels may be? Assuming I'd be in the mid to high 300's? The car isn't tracked, and Hasn't been launched. I just want more power. Haha. But not at the expense of a few pulls tearing apart the drivetrain.

My sig explains the gains you will see with minimal mods going from 93 octane to E85...tuning was done less than an hour apart.
