libmut

I've started writing a GPL'd library for the MUT (III) protocol. I'm really only targeting posix operating systems, but it's ansi C so it should run anywhere (providing your have a support for the tactrix-style obdii cable).

I just posted an initial snapshot here:

http://www.aktivematrix.com/forum/vi....php?p=467#467

It's not really for a end users, but developers will find that the test program (open, init, log) works. If you want to help, figure out how to set the baudrate to 15625 on the FTDI VCP driver on linux and email me because I haven't had time to figure it out and that is the only thing keeping it from running on linux at the moment.

you kick ***... just wanted to let you know.

lots of people like to talk free/open source but come up short when the rubber meets the road. Nice to see some truly FREE stuff getting out there.

thanks

No kidding. If there had been sample code for init with VCP I could have had something going a long time ago. As it was, I was fumbling around in the dark without the right tools to debug what was going on, on the wire.

Another thing to consider is that once the library gets stable is should be very easy to plug into Ecuflash. I'm sure colby's job would be a lot easier if he had a reliable mut library to use.

Thats what I'm hoping.. But I'm pretty sure that Colby already had all the info he needed to add logging. As far as I know I think he's working on something based on ECUFlash for someone..

I've added the code to the pyxede sourceforge project (http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/pyxede). You can check out the module 'libmut' from the CVS tree. Feel free to go check it out and send me updates or patches.

I've written up some demo apps and included them with the library.

Things like this:
