mmm did that mom ever get her sons evo str8? And there should be a sticky on the site about the EVO IX's and EVO X's and that ecu reflash recall lol. I have had a few customers with EVO IX's get the airbags replaced and the dealer ALSO performed the ecu recall and there tunes are gone and the dealer cant figure out why the cars wont start anymore *sigh*

Interesting. I've had to bail out our local Mitsubishi dealership a couple times due to the ECU recall they performed on Evo IX's. Luckily the cars I flashed were stock and not modified.

HELP!!!

So, i installed EcuFlash on my laptop, and then I connected the tactrix cable onto my car. I clicked on the "Read from rom" thing. and then after the laptop read "unknown rom", my car could no longer start. WTH!?

I didnt do anything, didnt change any parameters or anything. just logged on and now my car no longer starts. what happened!?!?!? Tried disconnecting the battery, car wont start, tried taking out the ECU / battery fuse, still wont start.

It cranks, but wont start. HELP!!!

EDIT: I did the "test write rom into ECU", i was messing around with it a little bit. I didnt think it would cause so much issue, how do I reset it back to my old rom settings?

The immobilizer code most likely no longer matches the car. Flash your stock rom, change the code on the current one, or disable it completely.

**** I have an E85 tune with E85 in the tank. Any other way I can keep the tune? It didnt even give me an option to load my tune and save it in a folder. Or is there a way to do that which I didnt know about? There was no option for that if I recall. I only wanted to adjust my IPW settings but didnt want to **** with anything else

- You can read the ROM from the ecu and save it to a folder, yes.
- It gave you the option to save, you just needed to save it. If you mean it didn't prompt you, then no: it doesn't. The program assumes a certain level of knowledge. You should know how to use it before you do.
- You may want to have someone who knows what they are doing fix it before things get worse.
- I suggest reflashing your original tune, before you messed with it. It sounds like your tuner has your immobilizer set correctly.
- Count your blessings: you could have bricked your ECU. Definitely could have been worse.

Hit up Gary Bains @ Bains Tuning. He's a good dude, responds quickly, and can fix ya right up. His link is in my signature.

Does anyone have the images from the thread? All the images appear to be broken.
