GM 3-port: VTA or not?

To Those who have installed a GM 3-port: Did you VTA the 3rd port or did you connect it to the intake pipe?

I know that the GruppeS 3-port instructions say to connect the 3rd port to the intake.

The GM 3-port does not come with instructions. So which way is better, VTA or connect to intake pipe?

it is not enough air to hurt the motor. It is up to you. I vent it back into the intake because i have the nipple on my intake. Otherwise i wouldn't. I have seen 3-ports actually come with a little foam tip on the 3rd nipple to act as a tiny filter.

I would vent it back in.

If you still have the option of venting it back in, I would. It is metered air, a small amount, but still metered so why not.

VTA or not GM 3 port

I tested this on my car and found VTA ran a little richer, and a little richer spooling up after drop throttle in tuning logs. Acts like VTA BOV but much less so. You might spike a bit more so be aware of that if going from VTA to recirc'd.

So I concur with Brian.

Anyways that is like a boost leak, so you dont want that from that standpoint.

I recycle back in. Just remove the foam filter on the GM 3 Port

+1

Plus you could have read my how-to, where I said it should be connected, if possible.
