I have an Airtrek xml, 89970010. There are a few, and they should be 512, not 256. The one for my car is totally wrong that comes with ecuflash and caused me numerous problems. I've posted my rom on http://airtreker.com/forum/index.php?topic=2365.0. I've updated it abit since I posted it, but the basics are there and correct.

Its all to do with the xml. Mine was 256k when I pulled it off the first time as well. If you want to try it on your own xml, open it up in notepad and change the <memodel>SH7052</memodel> and make it <memodel>SH7055</memodel> Next time you download your rom from your ecu, it will be 512K.

If you use the xml that comes with Ecuflash, all the fuel maps are defined wrong. You'll be changing the wrong map. If you download my rom, its already set up for logging 2byte load, and the fuel maps are correct.

No worries, so was I 9 months ago, and on alot of things still am a noob myself.

Use ecuflash to download the rom, then open it in ecuflash and you should see the rom ID as one of the options on the left. The xml is saved in the ecuflash directory on your laptop.

If windows 7, the xml will be at Program (x86)/OpenEcu/rommetadata/mitsubishi/airtrek

Once you found the rom id, you then need to open the xml for that rom. Open the xml in Notepad, make the change to SH7055, then save.

Then download the rom again and it should be 512.

If you want me to have a look at the rom, email it to me.

Great.
Well I just opened it in ECUFlash but I had to define a definition, so I inherited from a 2002 Airtek. The internal ID is 89970009 and memory model is SH7052. I'll delete the xml def I created, mod the 89970010 to SH7055 ASAP.

Hmm, haven't heard of that rom, but change the memory model and you should be right.

Your rom is incomplete
do not flash it back to the car

The reason you get only 256K of rom is your READ method
You should not use evo 7 or 8 to read this rom

Choose evo 9 rom read method (u r using ecuflash 1.42)

89970009 is very similar to 89970010
Before you start up ecuflash
Make a copy of 89970010.xml n rename it to 89970009.xml
Edit 89970009.xml using Notepad.exe
Change everything from 89970010 to 89970009 and save

Ecuflash can then open this rom.

The standard 89970010 xml will cause the same issue, being only 256K, unless you change to SH7055.

Okay, so I fist moded the 89970010 stock XML file to SH7055 . That didn't work since the ROM read was still 256K. I tried to read it as Evo9 but it would not read the ECU. That failed as well. I renamed the 89970010.xml to 89970009 and changed all internal references to 89970009 as well. That also failed. After changing back everything to original, I changed the evo7_base xml to SH7055 but now it would not even read the ECU. After switch it back to SH7052 it read the same 256K file. I poped open the Ev09 base xml and sure enough it was SH7055. I suspect because this is an older model Airtrek it it not based on the evo9.

The 256k rom is too small to store all the info required for the auto gearbox, so it must be 512. I'm surprised none of what you tried worked. I'm out of ideas at the moment.

There are only 2 models of airtrek ECU namely 2003 n 2005
I suspect your 2003 ecu was flashed with 2005 JDM map
(8997xxxx are JDM series, 8354xxxx 2003 export)

look in ..\rommetadata\read templates folder
Edit read_evo9.xml
Change mitsukernelocp to mitsukernel
Read rom using evo 9 method
if during read init code run to F0F0 then Search for and use ECU Unlocker

Hi. The "Change mitsukernelocp to mitsukernel" seemed to have worked in that I can download the 512K ROM now.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8723764/airtrek-2.zip

I'm still in need of the xml def.
