help analysing this log

did some third gear pulls and got fair amount of knock at first time, then a bit less on second pull, on third even less and at last time 0 or 1 knock.
what can cause such wierd behavior, sometimes it runs with almost zero knock, sometimes 10+

below are two logs of third gear pull. will upload the rom if needed

thanks in advance

Have you verified that it's real knock and not false? Try throwing some race gas in there and see what it does. What kind of gas are you running?

there's no race gas available in my area currently running on 98 RON

about knock, haven't verified yet. is it phantom or real, can't understand why is it so unconstant. occurs at different loads, different rpm and different counts. sometimes doesn't occure at all

Found your problem. When you're on your high octane map, your car pulls around 1-2 counts of knock, then it just gets worse from there cause it switches to your low octane map which is WAY lower timing than your high octane map. Here's what I would do and have done in this position.

Copy your high octane map and replace the low with it. Then take a about 3* out of your spooling up range and you'll be set. Then adjust your timing from there on your high. Let me know what you come up with.

should I copy over timing only or afr map too ?

p.s. how is it possible to swich to low octane maps on 1-2 count of knock ? is it common and must be so ?

and also, that transition between maps, how does it explain that the knock sometimes occurs 10+, sometimes 0. on what does it depend

I would leave the low octane maps alone and just work on your high octane maps. Just put in the timing that the ecu wants at those loads and smooth it out from there.

I've logged in the rain once and with wheel spin and the car bouncing around I've had knock counts as high as 17dropping down to 9. The next day when it was clear out no changes made to the maps 1 to 2 occasional knocks.

Leave your low octane maps alone they're there for a reason.

and what was the reason of that high knocks ?

I've read from multiple people who have been in this game for quite some time, after they've gotten a good high octane map, they copy that map into the low but retard the spool up area by around 3*. Cause when his car switches to his low map, it drops around 11-14* which is a huge drop and will cause it to knock more. That's why you do what I just said.

I left the AFR maps alone when I did it so just do the timing maps.
