help with decel tuning

when i decelerate my car never goes below 30 load. ive logged this and it just does not go below that. i even set my timting to -15 in the 10 and 20 column to see if the car starts popping and banging but nothing so i know its not getting there. i have it at 38* from 30 load on. im using tephra v7 on an evo 9

i also have the problem of the injectors (rc 1000) not shutting off when decel in gear until the car hits about 3k rpm. above that its like the car is on its own cruise control unless i downshift, it will then shut the injectors off. now if i rev match while down shifting the injectors stay on. please help, id just like the car to decelerate when i take my foot off the throttle.

same situation for me. Would love to have them shut off like you describe as well.

What is your TPS reading when the car is decelerating?

This is the famous "Rev Hang' issue. It affects EVO 05+. PM me if you need it fixed.

Oh, wasn't aware this was the infamous rev hang, I thought it was something else.

My 03 wouldn't shut off injectors on decel on two separate occasions

First time it was the throttle cable on the slide bracket behind the valve cover. reinstalled to tightly

Second time that stupid vacuum line down under behind the IM popped off

Both times resolved the issue and off throttle car goes full lean as it should

What would be a normal load reading during deceleration? I just pulled a log file of an E9 that I tuned last month. Load readings seem a bit strange, the car idles @ 33-34 load, 875rpm, 14.5tps. (RC1200cc) But when decelerating after WOT, load would drop to 15-18.

I am also having this issue when I am coming into a hard turn, I downshift to slow down instead of mashing my brakes, but alot of times I get the rev hang issue as well

last time I checked, decel fuel cut tables were wrong and are in fact ISCV tables, so they are in reality modifying the air entering the manifold when you lift-off, nothing to do with fuel I suggest you update them and use the proper ones https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...sassembly.html (mrfred FTW )
I've just updated ecuflash 1.44.3721 and "decel fuel cut" is gone btw

after and half-bad tune I had the most insane throttle hang and had to find a solution by myself

to check if you really have throttle hang :
- a simple test, drive at a regular speed like 60mph in a straight line with no traffic in front of you, suddenly lift-off and press the clutch down while watching the rev counter, if the rpms stay the same for more than 1sec or worse jump up then that's definitely it. I've had 3-8 secs of hang at this point the car never slows down unless you brake all the time. You can also try it on the highway, it won't work if your engine coolant temp is under 80°C and at low speeds, temp because until that temperature you have lots of unwanted modifiers adding to the ISCV calculations, and speed because you need to be able to log/feel the drop in acceleration.

- if you add the ISCV %demand parameter to evsocan and you see that it stays high several seconds after you lift off, that's most likely the problem
Code:
<DataListItem DataLog="N" Color="" Display="ISCV % Demand" LogReference="ISCVDemand" RequestID="76" Eval="100*x/255" Unit="%" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="0" GaugeMax="100" ChartMin="0" ChartMax="100" ScalingFactor="1" Notes="" Priority="1" Visible="False"/>
here's an example of "light" throttle hang https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/7099176-post23.html ideally to slow down immediately after lift-off, the steps should go down as fast as possible
the guy had a decaying 4sec of "hang" I had up to 9sec of maxed ISCsteps, you do not want to experience that ><
there are tons of topics on this subject in evolutionm (THANK YOU VERY MUCH EVERYONE)

From factory the car has a small throttle hang it helps to have smoother gear changes, actually you can have the rpm drop almost instantly but the car will buck everytime you lift-off and change gear, personnally I prefer because it also means the car weight transfers quicker to the front when you lift-off to brake, it removes a bit of the car "understeer" some part of it is actually the car still accelerating when it shouldn't.

If you really have throttle hang you can try to lower the values on those two tables (you may have to add them or find the proper ones for your rom) :
ISCV Demand TPS Adder, AC off (FFFF6E84) (mattjin fuel cut delay)
ISCV Demand TPS Adder, AC on (FFFF6E84) (mattjin fuel cut delay)
