Post How To: Aggressive Launch Control

Good day guys,

I guess this has been asked already somewhere in here but I'm pretty new here.

My question is, how do I achieve an aggressive launch control of course with flames and "bang bang" lol.

I have an Evolution 6 RS2 with a stock ecu with Ceddy Mods, PTE6266, forged internals, GSC S2 cams, ported head.

Cheers.

Something your tuner should be able to set up for you.

My tuner doesn't respond to me when I tell him about flames and loud launch control lol ... I usually tune it myself for mainly day to day driving but he handles the race tune on 109 race fuel but the settings I have still aren't giving me the boost nor the rest of stuff.

I usually try to do it myself and read along the way.

If you have the ALS plumbing this:

will get you popping and banging on deceleration.

Here is the JDM Evo 6 RS Ralliart ROM with launch control set at 5500 rpm so you can see how it is done.

Lots of timing retard (-20 or more), rev limiter set at 5500-6500, and dump fuel. Smooth out your maps so you don't bog on launch.

I recommend tephra for launch maps and automatic -20 max timing retard.

this built about 15+ psi on my 71 hta evo ix with s2 cams. MORE than enough. I used the 0 table in gear selection of the WGDC table to control boost. Using alt maps I could flip my alternate map which used a duty cycle to knock that same launch map down to about 10 psi.
