Tephra v.7 96530706 e85 fp New tuner Rich Help.

Whats up fam. Sorry to post yet ANOTHER thread. I am a studying/practicing tuner i guess. Im practicing on my fp red e85 evo 8.

E85
Wally 450 stock rail stock fpr
Evo scan
Ecu flash
Fp red
Fp 84 mm intake (stock maf scaling) i think.
1450 blue max fic
Head studs
Gsc cams
Full exhaust
Fmic
Uicp
Licp

Rom is 96530706

So story is, had walbro 255 and ran 12.8-9 afr under full boost.
Swapped in wally 450 lph now ran rich everywhere.

Now ive been making adjustments to high octane fuel map ONLY. Seems like im not getting close to target afr as much as i lean Map.

So o checked fuel trims and they were -7 short and -8 mid i think. So i input some new numbers went super rich. So i flashed back APPLAUD fuel injector latencies he suggested.

Except he said 1008 scaling and im at 1329 scaling.

Now i think these latencies are closest to 0 out of my options.

So do i need to adjust maf or how do i get closer to 0 fuel trims if im at the best latency and scaling?

Also car experiences alot of full rich to lean sweeps around the city. Everytime i let off it goes to 10.0 afr then tapers to 14.7.

Part throttle sometimes in the low 11 afr.

I dont know how to share logs so here are pics of my settings.

All input is appreciated. Please no bashing im trying to get this right.

Thanks Gurus.

Reduce latencies at all voltages by 7%. Idle for 16 minutes to reset LTFT low. Tell us what that does to your trims.

So i reduced all latencies by 7%. Flashed it at work. Drove home and just drove to my moms house 14 min of city stop and go and my trims are dropping closer to 0.

So far they are -4 low
-7 mid

Is this accurate or do i need to do a freeway steady idle cruise for 4 cycles? Or is city stop and go ok for fuel trim tuning? Im not going passed 30% throttle to try and get best numbers.

Thanks

Bump your injector scaling up 4% from 1329 to 1382. Let it idle for 16 minutes to reset the LTFT low, then go drive it for 16 minutes on the freeway at a constant throttle to reset the LTFT mid. That should get you in the ballpark.

Will give that a shot. I think the next scaling is 1392 tho.

That should be OK because your LTFT mid is -7%.

Ok so flashed new injector scaling 1392

Fuel trims seems alot better. low 3.3 %

I think that is good as we can get via Injector Tuning.

I logged fuel trims for 16 min at idle.

So i had 3.3 this morning after 16 min of idle.

Now i have 7% fuel trim after driving home around city. I went into spool on my home is that why my trims are more positive?

Is my 3.3 result at idle legit or is it really 7%?

Let's check to make sure I understand.. Your LTFT Low is now +3.3%, and LTFT Mid is now +7%. Is that correct ?

This morning after 16 min of idle my low was 3.3%.

Drove home and got into spool boost several times, got home and fuel trims were 7.7%.

Is my true fuel trim 3.3%?

And did i see 7 % because i got into spool boost?

The stft, mtft and ltft all reference different htz when they're telling the ecu what to do with fueling. What the ecu sees while in boost or at cruise will not influence what it wants to do at idle.

Also, you should keep in mind that if you're tuning the in boost behavior, focusing more on high octane fuel table will provide you with more tangible results. If you're on SD you can use the RPM vs VE table as well if you're not seeing any changes as you change your tune.

Even more also, with the addition of your bigger fuel pump it's possible you're overrunning your fpr or fuel return capacity. Using an external fuel pressure gauge that can be seen while in boost will help you diagnose that.

all im saying is I had 3.3 fuel trim after idleing for 16 min.

Drove home car getting in and out of spool.

Then my trims were 7%.

Is it because of me spooling it instead of doing steady throttle cruise.
