SD - Cold Startup Lean Spike

Hey Guys,

My 06 has been converted and tuned on speed density, and I've applied Mr. Fred's jitter fix #2. The car runs amazing when warmed up. Idle, cruise, WOT, it runs great.

The problem I'm having is now that the temps are starting to cool off here in northern IL, I've noticed that when I start the car in the morning, it idles well, and even comes off of idle/begins to drive well, but there is a huge lean spike while just cruising when it's trying to warm up. Watching my wide band when it happens, AFR's rise from 14.7ish to 16.0 (wide band isn't set to read higher). I'm assuming it's far more lean than that.

The shop that did the tune over the summer said it was set to use the fuel temp sensor for temperature. I would love to bring it back to them/contact them, but I know they will say they want to see the vehicle again which will take another month to get in, which won't work since I'm moving across the country here in 3 days.

Any tips, other than - Let it warm up in your garage/driveway/wherever fully before driving it at all?

Thanks!

Edit - This is for Rom: TephraMode-88590715-7

Do you know if this happens when your car is still warming up (i.e. coolant temp is below 180 degrees)? If so, try adjusting your startup fuel tables and/or ISCV tables.

Yes, it happens when I'm trying to drive it and it's not yet fully warmed up. I'm sure the temp is well below 180 when it's happening. I'm babying it at this point, being as gentle as I can in 1st/2nd gear. Will the suggested tables still have an effect on this issue by chance? They seem to be related to startup & idle? Overall, the car idles very well.

Yes those tables will play a role all they way up until your car is fully warmed no matter if you are idling or driving.

Ok cool. I'll check them out. Is there perhaps something I should be logging to know which one, where, and how to adjust?

I'm going to take a stab and say it might be the 'IPW Enrichment vs. Coolant Temp #1 & #2:' tables?
