Mellon Tuning EVO is back ~10:1 CR motor

I installed the new high impedance FIC 2150's and man do they idle/cruise better than the old low impedance FIC 1650's I've been using. I'm in love with my car again, no more sputtering at part throttle.

I also did some testing on the new Buschur ~10:1 motor with 93 octane

25psi 549awhp and 417tq
30psi 591awhp and 464tq IDC was 48% (FIC 2150, twin walbro, Fuel Rail)

The spool is the same best I can tell but the car doesn't feel quite as lazy around town at low RPM. I did a 2nd gear pull and started by brake boosting, it absolutely boiled the tires off through 2nd gear. One of my friends rode with me and thanked me for the heart attack afterward lol.

BR HTA86 @ 30psi on 93 octane

Buschur 2.0L ~10:1 CR
Buschur Stage 3 head
Buschur BF272 cams
Buschur twin walbro fuel pumps
Buschur 3" tbe, test pipe, bullet muffler
Buschur 3" intake pipe + Mas adapter
Buschur UICP and LICP
Buschur Mini Battery
Buschur Race FMIC
Buschur COP
Buschur Fuel Rail
ARP head studs
PPI ported stock intake manifold
PPI 65MM throttle body
FIC 2150cc injectors
Tilton Twin Disc Carbon clutch
Buschur, Bushwacker Transmission upgrade

Tuned by Mellon www.mellontuning.com

here's the chart of the 3rd gear pull:

I know, there's probably more in this setup. I only spent a few hours on the tune this weekend once I raised it to 30psi. I stopped there simply because the car is crazy fast already.

Very nice! I cannot wait to see what you can do with some corn. Maybe some better flowing intake components in the future? Looking forward to working with you Chris.

Congrats on a great setup and some sweet power!

May I ask why you went with the FICs vs. IDs? Only reason I ask if I may be buying some ID2000s soon. Thanks!

nah, I love my stock maf consistency too much. Maybe later I'll get some ambitious 1000awhp goal and need to make a change.

I don't know, I've had my eye on that magnus intake for some time. I bet I could pick up another 30-40hp at high boost. There's lots of other great options too, Buschur, AMS, DI etc... I can tell you this, I'm tired of raising the hood and looking at that ugly stock intake with 50 hoses and bumps on it It really detracts from the looks of the engine bay.

thank you, I have a very good working relationship with the nice people at FIC and I like their prices too. They've always been great about answering any questions I may have and I also share real world data with them which they find helpful.

chris, the only problem is buschur isnt making their fabricated intake manifold anymore. i tried to get one when i made the trip down there a little over a month ago nick just told me to stick with my ported stocker. if i cant get my hands on a fabricated mani, ill stick with my ported stocker for now... maybe ill just bug david everyday to make another batch
