i run 25psi at the track on pump gas and haven't been getting knock. i don't wanna venture any higher and learn the hard way (like i usually do LOL).

my new build has coated pistons to help JUST a bit with detonation. just in case.

FWIW, i like low end and mid-range (i'm a road race/autox guy) and would probably not go bigger than your cams. moving the power band to the right isn't for me, being on a 2.0L (decided against the 2.3 for reliability reasons). you have all that displacement, though.. so you have lots of room to play! i envy you a bit haha.

fp black
AEM V2 With flex fuel sensor

Made 460 hp

22 PSI.

Originally i made 453 and 400 on 24 lbs but come to find out i had some leaks ( throttle body seals, blow off valve, injector seals), i replaced them all while the turbo got sent out for a rebuild and this is where i am now. I have to grab the dyno but car is at the shop getting ready for E85 tune tomorrow, ill try and get the sheet for both while im there. Looking for 700 then plan is to upgrade to a 6466 and hit 850+

Looks like he may have kept it where it is, on purpose (?).

probably keeping it close to 400 on purpose if the guy had a stock block. stock rods cant handle much over 400 tq regularly. its a crap shoot to far over

If i am driving a high hp low torque car, what is the feeling and handling of the car ?
Do we miss that sucker punch feel at the top or is it some thing else ?

My guess is the engine rpm drops fast during gear engagement. Then hp helps engine to rev up fast. I had a turbo rx-7 with aluminum flywheel. I stopped trying to ride the clutch. Lol

Here's my 91 tune (lower power curves). Since it was dual mapped, they idiot proofed as much as they can for me since I'm new to E85...I think they kept boost to 24 psi on 91. My previous tune was by Vishnu and spikes wentup to 26 psi.
350hp/325tq.
Mods: 71hta, Perrin TBE (from Vishnu V400), 3-port boost controller, 1200cc injectors, AMS FMIC, 320 lph fuel pump, Injen hard pipes, crushed DV (works great!), MAP O2 housing, and I ported exhaust manifold and turbo hotside myself with help from many people on this site.

Update with 7009 S2 cams and 5041 springs/retainers

Since last post, I've added S2 with 5041 springs/retainers. I also upgraded to Exedy Twin Disc clutch, catch cans, and Evo 8 3rd & 4th gears (dynoed with break in gear oil, which will be switched out to Redline Cocktail in a few weeks).

Orange is old 91 tune with stock cams. Green is new 91 tune with S2 cams.
