Brandon's Evo 8 - Stock Block XS Power 6266 GSC S2 FiTronic 93/E70

Brandon brought his Evo into the shop for a lot of maintenance and upgrades. Instead of writing a book, I'll just make a list of what we did below:

1. Timing belt job
2. Turbo kit installation / custom fabrication
3. Injectors installation
4. Double pumper installation / wiring
5. Ported the cylinder head + rebuilt it with fresh internals
6. Custom lower intercooler piping
7. Ported intake manifold
8. Exedy Twin HD clutch installation
9. FiTronic installation + sensors
10. Fresh HG /w new headstuds
11. Oil Change /w Brad Penn 10w40 /w AMSoil filter
12. Wire tuck
13. Painted ABS Module
+ more but you get the idea.

After we performed all the maintenance, we then tuned the vehicle of course. Below are the mods on the vehicle and power extracted conservatively since this is a high mileage stock block.

Mods:

Stock block /w 110K
TSComp/McCarty Ported cyl head
TSComp/McCarty Ported intake manifold
TSComp lower ic piping kit
TSComp Double pumper
XS Power T3 6266 JB Turbo kit
3" turbo back exhaust
Turbosmart wastegate
Standard ARP studs
GSC S2 cams
FIC 2150cc injectors
Grimmspeed 3 port / Hallman Pro
Exedy twin HD
FiTronic Flex fuel tune /w 2-stage boost control

Power on E71 Fuel & 93oct below - Temps around 65F;

When working with a stock block the main objective is torque control. That said, I tuned the car based off the curve I wanted, and this is the outcome of that.

The end goal was the most HP I could produce without going over 400WTQ. I went slightly over 400WTQ, but not by much at all. Since its so late in the power band, the internals can absorb the power vs being shocked, which will keep the engine happy with straight rods.

Picture of Brandons engine bay;

Here's the final graph after I detuned the car ever so slightly to keep the curve as safe as possible:

We had to modify the downpipe to fit correctly out of the box.

With the Fitronic flex fuel kit, is it self adjusting based on the octane rating? Also this can be done on stock ECU?

Based on ethanol percentage yes.

Yes its for the stock ECU. We have sold around 50 kits so far. I'll be sharing a few more cars soon with the FiTronics from our shop soon.

If anyone is interested in the kits PM me or sales@tscomptuned.net

Sometimes I don't respond right away, but I will respond.

I am installing a xs power hot kit with a 6266 dbb and mouse intercooler and piping kit. I heard some people say run oil feed from the head and some say no it needs to be from the oil filter housing? also did he have to notch his front motor mount bracket on the block side for the turbo?

I don't remember full details, but its fine to feed it from the head.

The stock radiator wont work, and the stock fan may not work either.

The kit needs a lot of adjustments out of the box. We had to custom redesign the down pipe and so forth.
