Evo IX stock block big power 624whp | JDL T3 6266 S3 E54

One of many high horsepower stock block Evos we tune here. Morgan recently switched from stock cams to s3 and here are the new power numbers. I can share before & after as well if anyone's interested in that. We recommend you always stay under 400wtq, however this customer likes to push his car at times. I've been tuning this car for almost 3 years now at very high horsepower levels.

This car has gone a best of 10.7 @ 136 when it was around 560-590whp.
Car is located in AZ, so temps roughly around 60-70F or so.
Fuel quality was E54

624/451tq @ 33psi (Track race map only)
598/412tq @ 32psi (Race map)
554/390tq @ 27psi (Daily driver map)

why the drop in tq above 7300 at 33psi even though you ramped boost up? Is it less timing with that boost vs the 32psi pull? Would've expected tq to be flat and hp to keep climbing based on the 32 pull and wouldn't think it would be out of turbo.

Not judging, just curious!!

The 32 psi Race map has a mean curve

A great built

Nice numbers on stock block...What will be the HP limit on this setup?

Torque naturally falls off when a setup becomes closer to its limits. The reason you see flat torque curves on cars is because we are being soft with the tune keeping it extra safe. When any kind of optimizing happens the torque always drops off on the top end and HP still increases.

Technically torque increases with HP, so while the curves falling off its still being gained when your tuning the vehicle. You tune a car with torque not HP. Hope that made sense.

That's the type of curve that bend the rods also, so that kind of curve should be handled with great care. We made that curve for the drag strip so he can get 140+ which was his goal.

He is aware of the consequences.

Rods are the weak link, so torque is our enemy in this case.

If it had a built engine, it would need bigger injectors and ported intake mani and bigger throttle body next. Preferably Skunk2 intake mani ported by us + Fullblown 70mm.

If more people understood this I would have gotten into a lot less arguments.
