question about tial wastegate
I just recently got done doing my RnR gt37r kit. I had a question about my wastegate. I am currently using a tial 44mm wastegate. The wastegate has two vacuum hook ups and I am currently running a vacuum line to the side. I was told through the grapevine that i leave the top open. Is this true? or should i tee off the vacuum line and hook up both. also if it stays open does it need to have the vacuum flange in it? any help would be appreciated. THANX

Pressure to the side port opens the wastegate. Pressure to the top port closes the wastegate.
If you only use one port, use the side port.
As mentioned, the top port is more commonly used with an EBC. A dedicated pressure line is fed to the side port and the boost controller line is fed to the top port. The boost controller is set for a mode to close the line going to the top port when desired boost is reached, allowing the dedicated pressure line to the side port to open the wastegate. The EBC would be set to 'external' mode for this. This is opposite of how your setup with your manual boost controller works.
