Evo IX Oil Filter question

Evo IX Oil Filter question
I went to two local chain parts stores, they both gave the the same mobil 1 (110) and K&N (1010) Oil filters for an 06 Evo. They look longer and skinnyer..... I looked at the year priors filters and they are shorter and larger in circumferance. My problem is that the one on my car OEM is like the older ones and nothing like the Filters they are trying to sell me. Any info would be great...
Thanks

they are the exact same filter for the 8 and 9.... it has been posted numerous times, over and over again, i've done so several times myself. also, you dont exactly need the k and n.... the fram works just fine model 7317 any of the guards work ph, tg, or whatever.

I run K&N on mine. The gasket diameter is the same. The oem mitsu filter has an o-ring instead of flat gasket like the K&N. The flat gasket on the K&N does not leak even at 7500 rpm, so I don't see that as an issue.

I was thinking about putting one of those magnets on the outside of my filter and wanted to know which one to get. Any addeded protection IMO is worth it.

That is their selection.
You guys think this is the correct one?

Use only MITSU filters. You dont have to worry bout "which one is the right one" and if you ahve any warranty issues you dont have to fight with MITSU over not using OEM parts. Seems easy enough to me.
